A homecoming story: Dr. David Gray (Philomath native, OSU/WSU DVM 1994) left Albany for the Army Veterinary Corps — Fort Lewis, Guantanamo Bay, Japan — then co-founded Prairie Equine Hospital and North Idaho Pet Emergency with wife Dr. Leah before the pair returned to the Willamette Valley to open River's Edge in 2006. Dr. Leah holds a DACVIM board certification in equine internal medicine plus a CVA acupuncture credential and now sits on the ACVIM large animal case review committee. Associates include Dr. Dana Tsuchida (OSU 2023), who is pursuing a master's in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and holds both CVA and Tui-na practitioner credentials. Free exams for Safe Haven, Heartland, and Willamette Humane Society animals; donations to Chintimini Wildlife Center and Eugene's Community Veterinary Clinic for homeless pets.
