Bradfordville Animal Hospital

The building itself is the story's beginning: an 1853 plantation outbuilding that Dr. Lomax Teal remodeled into a veterinary hospital in 1982, with a back edition added years later. Dr. Alex "Steve" Steverson purchased the practice in 1991 and has expanded it steadily since — a second treatment area, doctors' offices, a separate boarding area for cats called Catopia, and a 2015 renovation that added five luxury resort suites for cage-less boarding. The hospital is fully handicap accessible and has gone paperless. Care on Thomasville Road reaches unusually wide for a general practice: cardiology, ophthalmology, endocrinology, internal medicine, and allergies and dermatology sit alongside wellness care for puppies, kittens, dogs, cats, and seniors, plus vaccinations, dental care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, spay and neuter, X-rays, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory and pharmacy, pain management, and laser therapy. The facility is equipped for hospitalization, critical and intensive care, and emergency treatment. An extensive network of specialists and consultants backs the doctors up, and end-of-life care is handled with real sensitivity.
