Serving both companion animals and livestock in the Cumberland Gap region, Russell Veterinary Services makes farm calls out to the barn rather than expecting cattle to come to Westmoreland Street. Small animal care covers preventive medicine through illness and injury, with dental services, surgery, allergy and dermatology work, and reproductive services, backed by X-rays, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and an in-house pharmacy. The large animal side handles routine exams and vaccinations, parasite management, sick and injured animal care, herd health counseling, and Coggins testing and health certificates — the practical backbone of any working farm operation in east Tennessee. Emergency resources are posted plainly and separately for each species group, with small animal emergencies routed to Five Rivers Pet Emergency Clinic or the Animal Emergency and Specialty Center, and large animal emergencies to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
